With parts and tools from tacticool22.com.

The tacticool kit including tools was $142. I also needed front sight post, spring, detent, and sling swivel and rivet (Midway $20). To match my 6920 I got takeoff M4 handguards (Ebay $20) and a carry handle from Standard Manufacturing (USA made, much better than NCStar airsoft stuff. $50 shipped).

My hats off to you, it took me a minute to figure out which was which but you did an exceptional job on it.
Bravo!

Thanks. Credit goes to tacticool22.com, for making the parts. All parts fit properly. The only mod to the gun is that two small tabs on the plastic upper need to be filed down, where the barrel nut/delta ring go.

And Meangene's right; at a glance you can't tell it from a M4 / Colt 6920. It's an even close analogue to the Colt 6520 which has a pencil barrel in place of the .gov profile M4 barrel of the 6920.

I took it to the range today and sighted it in.

ETA: the 15-22 is very realistic. All the controls work the same as M4 (no forward assist but who cares?) and even breaks down the same. Principal difference is that polymer upper and lower, and lighter bolt carrier, make it weigh less than M4. This conversion makes it look and feel quite similar to my LE6920. Smith should offer 15-22 in this co configuration
