Saw a mint 15-3 with box and papers at lgs for 675.00. How can I tell if it was reblued?

On a mint, original finish gun, I would expect to see raised areas around all lettering (very slight) and very sharp, raised feeling to the S&W trademark stamp.

The hammer and trigger should have strong color-case hardening. The pads on the extractor should be in the white, not blued.

The stop notches on the cylinder should be knife sharp with no softening of the edges.

Machining marks should be visible on front of cylinder.

Most of these observations are somewhat subtle, but the more guns you look at, the more detail you will notice.

I picked up a 15-2 2 inch 98% no box this month for $378 OTD and would have paid another $50 for the box, etc. I thought $350 plus tax was a sweet deal. Your price seems rather high.

if it is truly mint and unfired (except at the factory) and has equal condition box and paperwork....around $400....

Were some 15-3s snubnose? If so, then worth a little more, maybe $500 if like new. If you suspect a re-blue, walk away at $675 because like others have said, thats pretty high even if its completely original.
