I went into the local gun shop today trying to buy some .32 H&R Magnum for the wife's nightstand SP-101. No luck but decided to scratch the itch on the model 17 Classic. I've been watching these for a year and waiting for prices to go down but they aren't so obviously folks are buying them. They must be decent if folks are dropping a grand on them. Anybody have one?

I don't have one, yours looks nice on the side that is pictured. Please follow up with a range report.

I'm going to say that after shooting the gun today that I like it. I shot it side by side with my 1967 Model 14 and I like the smooth trigger on the 17 Vs the grooved one on the 14 the single action feels pretty much the same but the double action is night and day in favor of the 14 which I expected.

Accuracy on the 17 shows promise and like any .22 is going to show ammo preference. I only had an average ammo (Aguila) with me and it showed some good and some great groups.

Is it a thousand dollar revolver? Time will tell, the 617 is cheaper as is the new Colt King Cobra Target but they don't match my model 14.

Happy shooting.
