Acquired this one recently, a 17 No Dash engraved by Floyd E. Warren in 1983. I liked it when I handled it during the auction preview and like it even more now that I've had it for awhile and studied it some. It has engraving in a few places where we don't often see it and this is the first one I've seen, that I remember anyway, that has silver inlays where the turn ring would be. It's my first engraved 22 but now that I have one, perhaps not the last. And a thank you to RKmesa for not chasing this one too hard.

Jeff, you were right. That gun is much nicer than it appeared in the auction photos. Very glad you were able to bring that one home. I love the layout and the execution of the engraving and think the 8 3/8" barrel is a beautiful canvas for Mr. FE Warren's work.

Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing that one in person and going over it with a magnifying glass.

There are few engraved revolvers that have given me an immediate positive reaction. This one has!
It is engraved in very good taste and in unique appointments.
Is this typical Warren design or unique?
I only can refer to memory of general pictures of engraved revolvers

Not sure if it is typical of his work. Another Forum member 2152hq, himself an accomplished engraver, is probably more familiar with his work than I am, perhaps he'll be by to comment.

I have one other by F E Warren, a nickel 4 inch 29-2. No inlays but some of the work is similar to the engraving on the 17.

I have no idea how you find engraved like this. The best I can come up with is a engraved revolver and no body knows who did it. That looks amazing!
