Here are my two U.S. 1899s. Front one is an Army I got from Rock Island Auction a couple weeks back. It was advertised as 'action needs work'. Turned out to be nothing more than dried oil keeping the cylinder from spinning freely.
Rear is my Navy I traded some parts for a few years back.
Holster is an original Rock Island Arsenal from 1906.
Cartridge box is also RIA and dated 1908.
The belt is old but not milsurp.

I've been looking for navy model 1899 just haven't come across one yet, they didn't make many of them.

Only a thousand each

There were only a thousand each of the Army and Navy produced. I've seen more Army's come up for discussion or auction than the Navy version. Probably not a lot of survivors.
I just sold an 1899 Army that was refinished in nickel since I found a correct original blue one.
I have a few other 1899s in .32WCF and .38 in the safes.

There were 20,975 made in 1899 - 1902. Lord only knows how many are still in existence after 120 years. Don't be afraid to shoot, I exercise mine, (s/n 8636) every few years with nice light WC loads. Still shots great.

Very nice I have a great Army still looking for a Navy, I will get one soon.

Mine's a commercial version, (s/n 1215) but a great shooter. Likes Black Hills HBWCs.120 years young. ;)
