Anything special about a 19-4 4' bbl. from a retired DEA? Was the 19 ever a service issue at some point in time? I'm told the gun has history and is in 98% with a blemish / holster wear on the cylinder. It wears Pachmayr presentation's the factory wood, box, tools, papers are gone. The price / trade is very reasonable I just want to know if anyone knows more about DEA guns.

A DEA agent would have been able to carry a personal 4" M-19 up until a few years ago.

DEA owned/issued firearms were never sold to the public - not even to agents. Issue revolvers were 2" M-10, 3" M-13 and M-65. When DEA was formed in 1973, some agents who came from the Customs service had 2" M-60's or 2 1/2" nickel M-19's. There were a few seized handguns placed in service during the early 1980's, but they stopped that after a couple of years.
