I am asking a question concerning a Model 1905 4th. Change. I hope the photos are clear enough to answer. The hammer apparently has been changed to a later type. Also the rear sight has been updated and looks like ground and bent to fit the frame. The front sight has also been altered with a red insert and maybe higher. If possible I would like to return it to orignal. Any advice or thoughts. Thanks in advance.

It appears to be a standard M&P converted to a target revolver. It does look like a later short action hammer that has had the bottom of the spur ground for clearance.

After the frame has been cut for the post-war style rear sight there really isn't anything practical that can be done to return it to it's original comfiguration.

If it were mine I would make a new Patridge front blade for it and just enjoy it as a period conversion.

Except for the front sight it is really a very nice converted revolver.
