Why not make a 380 1911 type pistol, similar to the Llama Minimax or micromax.Inexpensive but accurate.Aconversational piece.

Imbel, the company that makes 1911's for Springfield Armory makes one but it's not allowed to be imported for some reason. I know of a man on another forum that has been trying for several years to get one brought in with no success.
Imbel even makes one with a hi capacity frame.

for some reason

In the rules for "points" needed to import, a 9mm scores extra points and is allowed where the same gun in .380 is not.

Same reason you don't see Glock 25/28 for sale in the U.S. (although one of them is available to cops, probably as an IQ test :D)

1911 380 cal.

although not cheap I have a sig p-238 black n/s rosewood grips sweet, and a NIB colt mustang pockerlite blued both look alike and are great semis good luck in your search

Aloha,

Check out the new Sig, I did and I like it. But, a little more than what I can afford now.

Between the Wife and I, we have a Beretta 84 and 86(Great guns, highly reliable, no problems at all), Walther ppk/s, Sig and a Colt Mustang.

Of them all, I like the Beretta(s) best.

BTW, Does anyone KNOW if the Sig 238 and Colt Mustang magazines interchange?

Dang, I didn't those Colt .380s are going for that much. I may have to think about selling mine. They are very easy to shoot.

380 acp 1911

I think of my colt mustang as a little 1911 380 automatic.
It caught my eye when I first saw it.
It is fun to shoot.
It is reliable.
It is easy to carry.
It is real purdy.
Just like the big 45 automatic.

$1000 is a tad stiff for a Colt Government model 380acp
(my favorite casual wear gun, bought mine l-o-n-g ago for $300, but SIL bought his just a year ago for ... $300)

reason some of would like somebody to start making 'em again (and some of the newer & similar is NOT same as), are those folks wanting to sell 'em for $800-$1000

Why doesn't Springfield or someone import the cast frames etc like taurus and just finish and assemble them here stateside? Put a quality made US barrel in it and you couldn't keep them on the shelf.

SIG/Colt mag compatiblitly

Yogi,

Its my understanding that the mags are interchangable. I've only got two .380s at the moment an ADC M7 lightweight Derringer and a CZ83.
