Does anyone know who makes the grips for the S&W 1911 model 108285? I wanted to buy two sets but the Smith website does not list them. I have been checking on Gunbroker and ebay with no luck. Luis

I am not sure if they farm the grips out, but they should be the same as the other 1911's. Except for the rubber ones. Try another part# of a diffrent 1911, in the same size. The color may vary somewhat, being made of wood. Good luck.

Correction the model number is 108285.

The problem with Smith is that they sell a checkered rosewood grip with and without Medallion and the rubber grips. The model 10285 comes with a set of walnut grips. A real funny guy at Smith suggested I buy 2 of the model 10285 in order to get the grips. That was a very sad comment considering I purchase 8 new S&W a year for the past 10 years. I just ordered another 108282.
