Anyone fired, buy or even see one of these anywhere? They are the 2 tone(matte stainless slide black frame) I am really interested but don't want to get burned by the 1911 phenomenon(you know where you spend more $$ for the "higher end" 1911 and it functions like our washington lawmakers i.e. it doesn't)

I have one of the pro series 1911's. I have had it for about two or three months. I have only shot it couple of hundred rounds as I did not have the 45acp reloading dies. I now have the dies and will load over Christmas holiday. I like the weapon it comes with fiber optic enhanced Novak adjustable sites. It shoots and functions well. I paid 1127.99 for it. However I did ship it right back to S&W because the trigger pull was five pounds ten oz. The company promises between 4 and 4 half pounds. They made it right and I had it back in 6 days. I will try and answer any specific questions you have if I can Cometpx4

Thanks magnum. I have a chance to buy one used from a factory rep who traded it in. The price is $725.00. It has night sights and it does NOT have a full length guide rod-does yours? Also did your pistol function %100 or were there malfunctions?

It does not have a full length guide rod, which I prefer. It has never failed to function in any way. They have an overtravel stop screw installed on them also. That seems like a great price. These have a few of the PC modifications without the big price tag. I would call it the middle ground between Performace center and productions guns. I also have the 686 SSR pro series revolver which I am very please with.
