I know that this is a S&W forum, but lately there has been alot of discussion on 1911s. Let's see some pictures of your 1911s and the holster you carry it in.

I didn't think you would ever ask.

My Yost custom Delta Elite in a Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster.

I do 90% + of my carry as opencarry, so I wanted something with retention, which the Blackhawk has.

It has been many years since I carried a 1911, but it was the pistol that I learned a lesson about buying cheap holsters about. I found the Bianchi Askins Avenger to work very well for me.

Best of luck,

Dave

1911s belong on this Board just as much as any other Smith & Wesson Product Line. While this isn't a 1911 it is based on the John Browning Design. I built this one myself in the late '70s. I carried it from time to time and then in '85 it went into a Collection which I believe was the Largest of it's kind in the Nation. When the owner of the Collection past away a few Years ago I paid the Widow what her husband had paid me for the gun and now it has come home again. I think it will stay here this time.

KKG,

Is that a two-tone Detonics Combat Master Mk. VII (sans sights) with Pachys & a Clip Draw?? (I see the mag is fully loaded, too!) I have the similar MC1.

Nope but you're kind of close. It's a Detonics and it is a two-tone(Electroless Nickel Frame with Blued Slide) But other than that it is a pure and simple "Kit Gun" that I built while I was working for the Company in the '70s. The Frame was a reject from the original Nickel project and the Slide had been a paper weight on my desk after we moved the shop from 'North' Bellevue to 'South' Bellevue where it had been a door stop! One of the machinists had machined the front sight off the Slide and so it too was a reject. The Pachmayrs are also Kustom fitted and made from a full sized set for a 1911 as was the "Grip Clip" which I first used in the CZ and then took to the the RVN. I used it in both places to carry a M-1911A1 under my uniform.

Ultra Aegis 9x23. Don't have a pic of it with a holster, but it rides in a Max-Con V, also, usually.

My customized SA Mil-Spec. Since the pic was taken I've removed the grips tape and added a Novak front night sight. I carry it IWB in Bianchi Model 120. For OWB I use an El Paso Saddlery #77.

Agent6, thanks for putting that pic up. I've been looking for an IWB for my Springfield that I like and that Bianchi looks great. It'll beat the heck out of the $15 Uncle Mike's I've been using!
