Picked one up NIB. 5 " Govt Model, stainless with the Crimson Trace grips.

First the bad. The CT grips look like cheap plastic although the web site says they are "burl wood". Secondly, looks like they could have put a fully adjustable rear sight on it. This one is windage adjustable ( drift) only. I would have liked night sights also, but I guess they figured it didn't need them with the laser. I might take the laser grips off and add some better sights, although with the factory sights, it shot right where it looked.

Now for the good. Except for the above, everything about it! Looks good. Well balanced. Its scary accurate. One of the nicest 1911's I've fired. I own 3 colts, two Gold Cups and a Delta. I also have a Kimber Raptor. None of these run as well or shoot as flawlesly as did the Smith today. Tried 8 different types of ammo, brass, steel, aluminum, and 4 bullet weights, 185, 200,220,230 in it along with cast lead re-loads. Not one hiccup. Great trigger. No creep, crisp break. 4 types of defense rounds in hollow points and all shot perfectly. The slide cycled with 3.8 gr bullseye all the way up to the stout HP stuff. The sights are regulated for 230 gr bullets. The laser was regulated to match the iron sights out of the box. Really couldn't be happier with this pistol. I can see the bobtailed Scandium Commander version in my future.
