I acquired this .32 HE #248376 years ago when I had a table at a show in Denver. I was just beginning to make the elk stag grips and had a few on the table. One fellow offered this HE in a straight up trade for a pair of my grips. The good news was that it had original factory pearl stocks with brass medallions. The bad news is that they had a big hunk missing out of the surface. The good news was that the edges were all ok. The other bad news was that the HE had a SS# and name crudely "engraved" on the sides. BUT ... a shootable vintage S&W for a pair of my grips :) ..... DONE DEAL ! Some successful experimentation with baking soda and superglue to fill in the missing hunk of pearl resulted in a nice sale that covered what I would have gotten for my elk grips. Some work with abrasives, polishing and OX-PHO brought the HE around to an acceptable appearance. But of course it had no grips anymore. I've had a lot of different grips on this over the years. For me, these round to square butt J frame Eagle grips are the winner. They have a bit of an "old school" target grip look with that football cut out and they feel GREAT in my hand for a smaller grip......WINNER !!
