Having Post-Gun Show Remorse (PGSR)

Got home from a tiny gun show a few hours ago.
As I was leaving I noticed a seller had an S & W 1917 Brazilian revolver in .45 ACP marked $650.
Looked all original to me. Very good shape. No pitting, rust, or dings. Bore shiny. Double-action very smooth. Lockup tight.
Thinking now I should have bought it. I have a 1950 ( or 1955, don't remember ) Target, but want something lighter.
Did I screw up by walking away from it? Today was the last day of the show.

Yes you did
Had one for years , very accurate and fun to shoot with a nice combination of big bore performance coupled with manageable recoil
I sold mine and truly regret it

I bought mine in 1990 from Century Arms. Fun to shoot with lighter charges in .45 AR cases. They are still out there and occasionally a good will show up. I would not part with mine. Lots of history associated with US arms used by Brazil. Mine is from the 1946 shipment.

Well Mr. smooth, to damn late now. Did you have the money?
Dont feel bad, we have all done it at some point in time.
Here I will make you feel better, You at that instant in time were a dumb ***! All ways helpful, Mike

If you walked out of the show the last day and that revolver was still on the table for $600, there may have been a reason why no one else snatched it up much sooner.

I bought a couple for $350 and $400 some years ago, before the wild spending spree government has been on since. That price sounds good now, considering inflation.

I had the money.
But in the last 3 weeks I bought a new CZ .22 Magnum rifle, and spent $1,100 getting front end and transmission work done on my F-150 Ford 4WD pickup.
And a month ago $1,200 on my Honda CR-V.
Figure I better cool it a little while on buying stuff I don't really have to have.
Still, if I had it to do over, I would buy the Brazilian and sell something out of my safe that I don't shoot any more to ease the pain by rationalizing the situation.

The price sounds good, but as stated above, if it was still sitting there after a two day show, there is likely a very good reason for that. We may never know what it is/was. But, take comfort in the fact that you are not the only one who passed it up and look for another one in the future.
