Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the Classic Series 5.5" Model 22-4 (Blue, Nickel & CCH) and the Heritage Series Model 25-12 (Blue only - Lew Horton). They are both reprises of the Model of 1917.

Thanks for any insights.

Adios,

Pizza Bob,

At least one difference is the Lou Horton version is round butted. The Model 22-4 1917 is square butted as shown in the photo of mine.

The Model 22-4 is very accurate. The 1917, a bit less.

Doh! You would think that I would have noticed something that obvious. I have two 22-4's a nickel and a CCH and was looking at a 25-12 in blue to complete the trifecta. Still might make a nice threesome...

The handling differences between the two grip shapes are noticeable. Of course round to square stocks are available, such as are on the round butted Mountain Gun, shown with a round butted Foothills Revolver.
