Simple question.

My S&W 1917 has a real heavy trigger pull. It looks like the rebound spring is the main culprit.

Would one of Wolff's offerings for the N-frames fit as a drop in replacement?

I used one in my 1917 and it worked fine.

Get the Wolf spring kit. Use the lightest weight that will give consistant trigger return. I usually use 13 pounds for my pre-war N's. Make sure everything inside is clean and properly lubed. I also lightly polish all the surfaces with Flitz for a smooth feeling action. I use the Wolf ribbed mainspring too. Sometimes you have to shave just a little off the tips of the forks on the mainspring in order for it to clear the pre-war stirrup.
