Shipped 9-5-1935 to Von Legerke and Antoine in Chicago. A store of some repute for doing business with Capones outfit. 2 of the Thompsons used in the St Valentines day Massacre were traced back to Von Legerke and Antoine.

The white spacers under the grip appear to be decorative. They are part of a calendar with one side showing Harry Manaster &... Research shows that Harry Manaster & Bro was a meat packing business in Chicago from 1920-1980. I put them back as they add to the character of the gun.

Very Awesome gun with a nice shipping destination, and I think the white spacers are cool too. Not that this makes any difference in the grand scheme of things, but while this gun was shipped in 1935, it was at least 1937 before the spacers were cut out and used, assuming the owners didn’t use a very old advertisement. I also like quinn’s thoughts concerning the mob connection. All it’s missing is a small streak of human blood on the white spacers!:rolleyes: YIKES!

Yes that is what I calculated, 1937. First I have seen with the homemade spacer. It doesn’t do much so it appears it was purely aesthetics.

I did something similar with grips on an FN Model 1900 Browning that I could not tighten down snugly. I made similar spacer shims out of thin transparent sheet plastic.
