I've recently purchased my first revolver, a pre-model 10 of the type sent to Britain during WWII. Initial range time showed it to be a fine shooter, but unfortunately it wasn't long before the tongue of the cylinder stop snapped off. I'm relatively handy, though inexperienced at gunsmithing, and thought this a fine opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of this gun. However, initial web searches for a replacement part show a piece that doesn't quite match up with what I've removed from my own gun - primarily in that they have a ridge along the back that mine lacks (it's flat and smooth.)
Does anyone know if these new cylinder stops (such as this one) will work in an old 1940's 5-Screw M&P?
