Just purchased a 1950 CM "as is". It's in great shape finish wise and a little "loose" mechanically. Issue I have is it locks up when at full cock and when the trigger is pulled double action. When the hammer is forward the cylinder can be rotated by hand with very little effort. When in battery the cylinder can't be turned. It's in WA state prison for now but when its released I plan to pull the side plate and give it a good cleaning to see if that solves the problem. With the cylinder open, pressing on the cylinder stop, spring tension seems plenty strong.

Filing the pad to get more engagement from a cylinder stop is one of the easier DIY jobs. Time consuming for constant trial fits, but not physically difficult nor difficult to understand what is going on. However, as noted above, new spring after a thorough cleaning is the way to go. Make sure to "test fit" the stop into EACH notch as long as it is out of the gun just in case there is something odd going on. Be sure to eyeball each notch very carefully. It is always possible you have a damaged notch.
