After looking at the thread about The Animals I thought man was that actually 50 years ago? Well here's the Billboard "1965 Song of the Year" as done live by one of the great Memphis bands, Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. The drummer is named Jerry Patterson a friend of mine.

Wild video, definitely 60s. Check out the two chicks and the outfits.

Damn. Now that song is going to be playing in my head all day today. Wooly Bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

I graduated from high school in 1965. Fifty years ago? That would mean I'm an old man. No, that can't be right.

Me too. I'm getting Facebook requests to go to the reunion this fall, but there's no way. I didn't like most of them then, and am certainly not going to cross the country just to confirm my previous feelings. Most people never change.

The reason I don't go to reunions are because most all of the people that I actually knew were either killed in SE Asia or died of drug overdose. (such was the time :() When I think of Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, I think of "Hey there little red riding hood". Ahooooooh!

Damn thread, I'm not much of a drinker, but after seeing this thread I sat in front of the TV with a bottle of wine and watched all that 60's music on youtube, everything you wanted to hear is on there.... now I have a headache:D

For some reason, I always liked "Wooly Bully"...

50 years. Wow. I was born on 8 April 1965. I am going to be a HALF CENTURY old!!!
Oh, and I share a birthdate with the .357 magnum. On 8 April 1935 the first Registered Magnum was presented to J. Edgar Hoover.
I ain't old. I can still do everything I could do at 16, but I can do it better now.:D
Age is just a number. I tell that to Missus Fan, who will be 55 in October.
HEY. She'll be a senior citizen!!
Wow.
Jim

I would like to have graduated from high school in 1965, but, sadly, my poor attitude and obsession with females caused me to miss too many days and I was given the choice to quit school (my senior year :() or start over in the fall.

I'm no fool, so I told them I quit, joined the Army and spend the majority of the rest of 1965 in VietNam. Of course they got me for most of 1966. a little bit of 1967 and most of 1968.

Yeah, I showed them, huh?

But, I recovered, more or less and think I am still the only lawyer you know that doesn't have a high school diploma.

Bob

Doesn't seem like 50 years since I graduated from high school. We're having our 50th anniversary reunion in September. Looking forward to that.

PS - It's also been 50 years since Eric Clapton left the Yardbirds, replaced by Jeff Beck, who was later replaced by Jimmy Page.

Damn guys, I graduated high school in 1970! I was a drummer in a rock band and I remember all those things!
I joined the Air Force in 1972. I must say, those were the "best of times". I still enjoy shooting, collecting firearms, music (rock and blues) and a few cold ones!

I once knew a lawyer who did not have any diplomas. He read under another lawyer and passed the bar. I thought it was optional for you guys. :)
