Hi everyone,
New guy here finally purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 compact. I visited the range this week for the first time. Bought my M&P used so I was a little nervous being new to handguns and all. The M&P performed great, put 200+ rounds (180 grain JHP and FMJ) thru it and no issues to speak of. I have fired the M&P at the Smith & Wesson Academy so the trigger was no big surprise. This is my CCW so I'm not sure whether to get an Apex trigger kit or not. I'm used to the trigger, and I think I want the heavy trigger? I ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck holster to go along with it; I have read they are very comfortable, looking forward to trying it out. I'll post a review of the Crossbreed, hopefully It help someone out looking for a IWB holster.

That's great to hear, I shoot up there every Monday night. Love my 40c. I carry mine CCW and have done the Apex kit to all of my MP's. My 40c was pretty gritty on trigger take up, with the striker kit upgrade, it has now turned into a very smooth take up and with the sear replacement, I have about 6.5lb pull, perfect for carry in my book. If you do the Apex kit, you can get one local from John at Remsport, he also works the range at S&W on Wed, he's the bald headed meany.. :) not to be confused with Mark the biker looking dude.. :)

Hey Jack good to hear from you. Shooting at S&W is awesome, I did the first shots, second shots, and there CWW course. Yeh they got me good, don't mind it at all though. The guys there are great, I can't say I have met John (bald headed meany...LOL) or Mark. I go mostly every other weekend right now. Thanks for the heads up definitely going to try to catch up with John. The Apex kit sounds like the way to go. What type of holster do you use for you M&P. Oh by the way MP9,40,357c,9,40,45fs....jealous.

Hey Massdraw,
I have the M&P 45c as my CCW and I carry it in a CrossBreed supertuck. I can tell you without even knowing you, YOU WILL LOVE the CBST. It is by far the most comfortable holster I have ever worn. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have about it. Check out my review of the Crossbreed + M&P system here: YouTube - CrossBreed Supertuck Deluxe FINALLY!

Welcome to the forum (like I'm such a long time member  but welcome none the less)

M&P 9c owner here. It is my regular carry pistol. Threw some lead at paper with it today. Tried a 'speed' mag change...OUCH...pinched the ring finger of the right hand big time
Fortunately I did not allow what was in my brain to cross my lips...especially since there was a lady shooting in the lane next to me. Kee-rimeny that hurt.
Lesson learned! I hope you enjoy your M&P as much as I am enjoying mine.

Great review rookbre. I ordered my CB 5 weeks ago.....I read those online post/blogs/reviews about getting it in the mail in a week or two, and was checking the mail everyday LOL. CB sent me an e-mail at the end of week 4 apologizing and informing me my holster will arrive week 5 or 6 from order date. Must be everyone's New Years resolution to carry concealed LOL. Keep those reviews coming definitely helpfull.

Thanks Paul for the welcome. I hope the finger is doing well. Don't feel to bad that has happened to me with the spare mags that don't have the small pinky extensions, yes OUCH! I feel your pain. It's tactical training/creating a stressful situation LOL. I am definitely enjoying the M&P.
