Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and apologize if this topic has been previously addressed. If so, a heads-up would be appreciated.

Buying a new metal frame and would like to put the SIG Romeo X Pro optic on it. I have one on a SIG AXG and really like it. I am told that the 2.0 accepts the DPP optic footprint and that the Romeo has the same. Anyone have any experience with this? Will I need suppressor height irons?

I have an older 2.0 that is not cut for an optic, but I like the form factor and the accuracy. I've found that a red dot really helps these older eyes.

Thanks for letting me participate.

The M&P 2.0 comes with a handful of mounting plates for various footprints.
I suggest downloading the manual from S&W. In it is a chart of various adapter plates and which red dot will fit it.

Thanks Dan,

I have the manual, just haven't really looked at it yet. I'll get it all figured out.

Happy New Year!

The Romeo X-Pro is ostensibly Deltapoint Pro footprint, which should be plate #6.

However, some people have reported compatibility issues with the Romeo X-Pro and some DPP adapter plates. It's apparently enough of a deviation that C&H Precision makes a specific plate for the Romeo X Pro.

Furthermore, if your metal frame comes with the plastic adapter plates, I wouldn't bother with them. If you don't want to pay for the C&H plate, some people have reported getting the LE box OEM metal plates for free by calling customer service.

Thanks Beju,

This addresses the confusion that I'm looking for an answer to. I really don't want plastic shims involved in my sight mount if possible. Honestly, that is a ******** remedy to a manufacturing problem that should not be an option on a quality handgun.

I'm going with the C&H solution for now.

Thanks for the input and Happy New Year!

My M&P 2.0 10mm polymer frame came with plate 6A which is for 10mm, 40 cal, 45 auto. It is aluminum with longer mounting screws.
Plate 6 is for 9mm.

Manual says it is DPP footprint.
I've not used any of my plates as my red dot is a Romeo One that has a unique footprint.

Thanks Dan,

The gun is on order and should be here in a few days. The C&H adapter plate at $50 seems a bit much, but I'm kind of a stickler for quality. Guess I'll sort it out when the gun arrives.

Happy New Year!
