I'm wanting to buy a PERFORMANCE CENTER® M&P®9 M2.0™ 5" PORTED BARREL AND SLIDE Kit. Any help would be appreciated.

Great timing on this post.

I am also looking for one of the kits for the M&P 2.0.

Thanks!

I thought there were only kits for the 1.0, S&W wasn't making kits for the 2.0's? Has that changed?

Hi, looking for one too for 2.0. tried to search and all came back with 1.0. If you have any luck, please let me know. Thanks,

I bought the 5" ported CORE slide for my 1.0. Kit included slide, barrel, optics plates and core backstraps.

Not aware of a similar deal for the 2.0. You'll have to buy the parts individually.

However, you can modify the 2.0 to work with 1.0 slides (if you're so inclined).

Only slightly off topic and posting here only because I watched the video.

The guy in the video stated that only the M1.0 had the spring on the slide release has the spring. I just disassembled my pistol to install an Apex trigger and my slide release has the spring. The plastic case the gun came in states "M2.0".

Clarification on this, please?

That guy sounds like a complete ******bag, though I'm sure that's just his Tube persona.

That said, the 1.0's do not have a spring, the 2.0's do. It is to stop the auto forwarding that the 1.0's did.

Well, I just looked at Midwest Gun Works and it show both types for the 2.0. I find that a bit odd. Since the 2.0 has the "ramp", racking the slide forces the stop down against the detent (kinda like a 1911). The 1.0s are squared off so they need a spring to drop.

I suppose if you wanted to use a 1.0 slide on your 2.0, you could just file the inside "bump" on your 2.0 slide lock. Still, I'd buy a spare to mess with in case I wanted to revert.

I don't want to add a 1.0 slide. I just wanted to make sure I didn't get hosed somehow when I purchased the gun.

I have an M&P 1.0, 9mm, Pro, 5" barrel. A few months ago decided I'd like to get an optic for it. Started looking for a kit - couldn't find one. Bought everything separately on ebay. The only optic ready ready slide I could find was a ported one - bought it. Figured since I got a ported slide, might as well get a ported barrel - got it. Got A Holosun red dot.
And got a mounting plate set.

Put it all together, went to the range and things went bad. Shooting the same ammo that I always use, it went from a sweet shooting, never an issue gun, to about 2-3 stovepipes/failures to eject every magazine. WHAT? Left it with the gunsmith to check it out. He said he shot a bunch and didn't have any issues and couldn't find anything wrong. I asked about needing a different spring, he said no.

Took it back out to the range and guess what? More stovepipes/ failures to eject.

My conclusion - while the ported slide looks cool, can't use the ported barrel.

I don't have issues with mine using the ported barrel. Mine started out as a 4.25" fullsize. I also bought a Storm Lake 5" non-ported barrel for it because I found one on closeout. Runs well with that one.

What ammo do you use?

For this discussion I think whatever ammo I use is irrelevant cause its the only ammo I have ever used.

The ammo you use is not irrelevant to your issue.

If you'd like to continue the discussion, I recommend you start a separate thread to keep it focused.
