2" steel .22lr j frame

If I can find one, what is a good offer for a 2" steel .22lr j frame?
I think its a 34 that I am looking for, did they make any others, mabye a 2" 63? any one out there got one they want to sell?
did s&w ever make a fixed sight steel 2" 22lr j frame?

A 2" Kit Gun or model 34 would run $450-600, depending on condition, box and contents, etc. 2" 63s were a small, special run and will go $2-300 higher. There are a very few 2" fixed sight model 34s, which would probably run low four figures if you can find one for sale.

They are tough to find. Most of us that own them do not want to sell them.

I think you would be real lucky to find a snubby model 34 for $450 these days.

Getchew a model 34. They can be found reasonable if you lay in wait, like I did on Gunbroker for this one at $246. Of course that was 3 years ago, but deals can still be had. Like others have said before, once you get one, you don't wanna turn it loose! Good luck in your search!

You will be hard pressed to find a Model 63 reasonably priced it seems. When I bought one about 7 years ago, it seems there was not such the collector interest as there is now. Quite frankly it shocks me at what folks are offering and paying for them considering what I gave for this one (ok, ok, even decent Model 10s are getting ridiculous lately...). I just thought the little 63 was the perfect gun to carry in the pocket of my hunting coat while bird hunting. They are realllllllly cool. I would pick up a 2" Model 34 if I found one reasonably priced.

Here is my 63 with it's larger sibling Model 651. Sorry, but they aren't for sale anytime soon.

there is a 2 in. 63 for sale on the auction sites right now,already at 835 bucks. the 63 ,2 in. was kinda my grail gun and found one unfired,gun only (rats) for 600,thought that was a steal.Go figure...Now i'm on the lookout for a model 650 in 22 mag...need something to look for.

Why do the old model 34's, 63's have a nice reasonable weigth trigger pull, while the new 317 snub has to have a HEAVY pull ???? I have a 317 and the trigger pull is unbelieveablely heavy.

I have noticed that about the 317.

A friend of mine got one, ostensibly for his wife to shoot, and we found the trigger pull just...well, ridiculous. We could only guess that it was designed for the self defense market and they increased the hammer spring weight for more reliable and positive rimfire ignition. That having been said, I never saw much of an issue in the 63, or 651 for that matter, even with some of the bulk ammo often mentioned for having reliability issues.
