You can have mine. I did some searches on our forum and saw no one has brought this up here so lemme tell ya........

My 20 round P mag = Full of Fail! Had several malfunctions at the range... seems the follower (?) is too shallow and dips in the rear not allowing the weapon to properly strip the cartridge. The bolt just glides over the top. Creates a bolt override style malfunction on the last couple rounds in the mag, screws the rounds up real good LOL. I've never had a problem with the 30s ( after boku rounds ) but apparently after some research I'm not alone with this same malfunction, among others. Buyer beware....!

here's one of the rounds. You can see where the bolt tried to smash the front of the round into the bore :)

2nd time it did it I loaded 3 rounds. 1st one stripped off like that.......the 1st time it happened the mag was full and it cycled 15 or so and then the malfunction cropped up.

PS I know what a loaded mag feels like LMFAO :) :) :) :)

So a pic of the mag in question.

Its a magpul p mag 20 rounder in fde you can find a pic any where.

I'm going to contact the company CS and see if I can get them to swap mine out with a 30. I'm just another in a long line of folks that have had problems so its probably common practice by now.

Again I didnt see anything here so I figured I mention somethin.....buy once cry once HA HA :D:D:D:D:D

My 20 rounder works great. My guess is you just got a bad one. I much prefer the 20 rnd to the clumsy 30 rounder.

Yep, my black 20 round pmag works just as well as my 30 round pmags.

I think that's the problem, you said you had a FDE colored pmag. Next time buy a black one;)

two old colt 20 round magazines given to me did this crushing of the cartridge, went on line and asked, was told it was a weak magazine spring, replaced spring and follower with brownells refurbish kit, no problem since.

I glanced over that thread and missed this pic....

..... there's the malfunction. thanks sic :D I'm not going to refurb a brand new mag though....maybe I can blackmail Magpul into sending me a new str stock ( unlikely)

Lol odd you brought this up I read somewhere ( arf.com maybe) that the urban legend was the fde 20 rounders failed more than the black ones......spoooooooooooooky. I dont buy into that **** but it is funny ;)

Splittiebus66, that is one crazy magazine caused malfunction. If your rifle doesn't like the 20's, better stick to the 30's.

I actually prefer the 20-rounders over the 30-rounders. I have both black and FDE 20-round P-Mags, and have no issues.

I have 20 round thermolds and a 20 round usgi plus 13 usgi 30 round metals and 1 pmag 30 rounds, I love my 20's and my thermold 20's have given me absolutely no problems, I have the USGI 30's cause I got them for cheap. like $5 a piece so I havent invested in PMags.
