2013 Masters: Augusta National Welcomes Condoleezza Rice & Darla Moore

I am so proud of Condy's admission into the Augusta National. Darla Moore also deserves special mention, since these are the very first women ever to gain membership into what was once an exclusive enclave of the rich, white, and male. Bravo Zulu to these two ladies!

Condi's probably got a bigger pair than most of the men there. She's swum with some pretty big sharks.

I understand the concepts of big money, being exclusive, tradition, and all that, but it just rings a bit hollow to make a big public spectacle of admitting Dr. Rice to the old boys' club of golfing. Good grief! To me, it just points to a minor embarrassment that things were the way they were for so long, not so much some sort of admirable quantum leap into the present day.

But I admit I only know what the media told me. rolleyes I just was not sure what your point was. I'm not a golfer, though I do like to watch it on TV if I have nothing else to do. I guess I don't have a dog in the hunt so I didn't understand why this was something that made you proud of Augusta and/or Dr. Rice.
