The new hybrid Corvette — MRSP a mere $105K — sounds pretty cool to me:

"...I recently test drove the E-Ray in the Berkshires. Moving the engine,495-horsepower V-8, behind the seats improves acceleration and handling by keeping more weight in the car's center. It also clears room below the hood for an electric motor that sends 160 horsepower to front wheels, for a total 655 horsepower and an unfair fight against strictly gasoline-powered cars.

The result is the fastest-accelerating Corvette yet with a zero to 60 miles-per-hour time of 2.5 seconds. Its electric helping hand allows the E-Ray to run its engine in four-cylinder mode more often, bringing highway fuel efficiency to a federally rated 24 miles per gallon, versus 25 for a standard Stingray with 160 fewer horsepower...."

Saw one in Carlisle PA last summer. It’s not a plug in or electric per se, it has a self generating accessory motor driving the front wheels.
Specific rotors and wheels are made for that model. The road handling is second to none.

The biggest dealer in the country has an over 500 waiting list. There are no discounts or buying at MSRP afaik.

Wait until the ZR1 debuts for 2025, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

“The ZR1 will strap a pair of turbochargers to the flat-plane-crank, 5.5-liter V-8 engine found in the Z06, where it produces 670 hp. The addition of forced induction should push the ZR1's horsepower output to over 800 ponies. All of that oomph will be sent to the rear wheels, where wide, grippy tires should help the power translate to blisteringly quick lap times. The ZR1 should also retain the beefy carbon-fiber brakes from the Z06, and we predict that it will rip to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds.“

The basis of the front mounted electric assist motor was more for the handling aspect than any gas savings.

GM is killing it.

A much better execution that the e'stang all around. It does look very Ferrari-ish. Not that that's a bad thing. I would need a large tire budget if I had that!
I kinda like the idea of a hybrid with an onboard electric, self charging motor. My D-I-L is on her 2nd hybrid Toyota. They have both been very well done and flawless in their operation.

The missus is looking at the Lexus mid size SUV. Not a PHEV, it self generates. Most of her driving is within 1-30 miles from home, perfect for her.

Waiting for one but…

…but not very many have been built.

Have owned a Corvette since 1989. An E Ray will be my next…then a C9. 🤞🤞

They are tremendous motor vehicles and get much better every generation. (C8 is the current generation.)

Note: For some of the previous posters, I have never owned New Balance shoes though I did rock ports as part of my crime fighting attire back in the day.😳

Be safe.

Yep...Zora Arkus-Duntov is spinning in his grave...
I looked this guy up, never having heard of him. Quite a character, and an early advocate of the mid engine Corvette:

Hmm. If link above doesn't work, try Googling "The Story of Zora Arkus-Duntov, the Bad-*** Who Made the Corvette an Icon" It's a Car and Driver article.
