loaded some 40gr bullets for my remington 700 in 204 ruger. first, nosler then berger, groups ran 1.5 to 2". next i loaded 35gr bergers with the same powder and got groups under 3/4 of an inch. is that 1-12 twist to slow for the 40's or am i missing something here?

Your not missing anything, I have a 1x12 in my savage, and it shoots the 35s way better than the 40s, bergers 35 are hard to beat, I shoot them in my les baer, AR-15 204 cal. 1x9 twist.
