If you had an opportunity to purchase a 22 Caliber revolver what would you buy and why? If money wasn't a factor what would you buy?

I am in the market.

10 shot 4"-617, I have the 6" and have been wanting a 4" gun to go with it for awhile.

I got lucky over a month ago. I too have been looking for a 4" 617 I have the 6" model. I went to a GS that I don't go to very much looking for ammo and he had 3 new 4" models under the glass. After carefully checking them out I came home with one.

I think I'd like a Mod 63 snubby. I have a 4" 617 I bought last year as well as a Mod 43 3.5" I bought back in 68. I had a 317 but just sold it as it needed refinishing but I didn't want to put the money into it.

The six inch is so accurate that it basically shoot itself!

I have been shooting mine in Steel Challenge competition for over two years. It is my favorite gun to shoot!!!

Plus one for a 617 ten shot.

Ruger Single Six with cylinders for .22 and .22 magnum

I had heard that the conversion cylinder guns like the Rugers have the rifling bored for the larger 22 magnum. So, if you shoot 22 RF; accuracy may not be as good as a dedicated barrel?????

any 4" 617....perfect size (for me anyway), will last forever if maintained properly, and they hold their value.

Ruger Single Six with cylinders for .22 and .22 magnum

Are they hard to find?? a LGS has one for sale, a 9 1/2" barrel version with both cylinders and a nice leather holster. Looked it over and it is very clean. Considered purchasing it because i like to shoot .22 Mag, and it likes a long barrel.

Have a couple 17's and recently picked up a Heritage model. The 617's are nice also. Larry

Only you can answer which is more comfortable in your hand, the J-frame or the K-frame, but if it were me and I could only have one, I would probably go for a K-22/Model 17, but if you want stainless, the 617. Since the 617 has the heavier underlug, I would go with the 4" while looking for a 6" Model 17. If you go for the smaller frame, the Model 63 will be a lot easier to find.

I've got a 4" 63, 5" 63 and 6" 617.

I like the 5" 63 over the 4". Just bought the 617 and haven't shot it yet. All that being said I still want a 2" or 3" 63 at some point

If money isn't an issue, I'm looking for a 6 inch Colt .22 Diamondback, an early S&W 17 with 6 inch barrel, or a Dan Wesson .22 Pistol Pack. Not necessarily in that order:).

I've wanted an old 22/32 Kit Gun for decades, but never wanted to spend what they fetch. But if money were no object . . .

After that, a Ruger Bearcat. Had one about 45 years ago and have always regretted letting it go. Again, with unlimited funds, I'd try to find one with an extra cylinder in 22 Mag, which I understand they made a few of.
