Was in my local Wally World today for a few items and decided to check the ammo shelves. There hasn't been anything but shotgun shells there for a long time now. Lo and behold, on the top shelf in a corner are several boxes of CCI maxi mag 40 gr hps! I quickly asked for help and scored two containers (their limit) of 125 round "milk cartons. Price was $22.84 per 125, which figures out to a little over $9 per 50. I haven't bought .22 mag ammo that cheap in a long time, and it was one thing I didn't have a lot of. Had my wife go by after work and pick up her two box allowance as well. I'm pretty happy!

Nice score! My LGS seems to always have .22 mag ammo in stock $12.99 for 50 - brand varies from week to week. I pick up 2 boxes every week or so. Having only a 648 to shoot em, it last a while.

Hoping Walmart has 22 mag back in stock this week. Was $10.50 for CCI 40 grain H.P. and $20 something for that milk carton box. Bass pro shop and my LGS charging between $16 and $19 per 50. Anxious to try those Hornady Defense 45 grain I bought and see how my rifle groups em close to the CCI 40 grain. Should make a good varmint round up close.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to see anything except a few boxes of shotgun shells. I was very pleasantly surprised to see these. Oddly, they had several boxes of 28 gauge shotgun shells. Seemed odd for a Walmart.
