.22 Rim Fire Packing

I attempted to purchase a 50 round box of .22 LR ammo today.
The only packs available were bulk boxes of 550 loose rounds.
Is this the current packing?

Wal Mart, Gander Mountain, Cabela's and a bunch of local chains have boxes of 50 and 100 CCI Winchester and other popular brands. Must be a local thing

Same here and the handful of local dealers around where I live all sell the bulk packs and the 50 round boxes. Like said above, you need a new gun shop.
