223 and 5.56 is starting to show up in quantity in a lot of places but prices are still pretty high at ~.60 per round. Now that I snagged some I thought I would share that GRAF's has it available at probably best price I've seen in a long time. Think BassPro is pretty close but tax and high shipping jacks price to over $500 per 1000 (Gander is $600 + tax locally). I jumped on this because I need real 223 for my current min SAAMI spec 223 match barrel. Really got to get it to a smith and get it reamed so I can use 223 and 5.56.

45.99 box of 100 and no tax (at least for me) and $6.95 per order shipping fee. This is actually the American Eagle Tactical boxed stuff in 223 or 5.56.

It's coming back around here too. Last weekend in South Dakota I stopped into a Walmart just to see what they had.
1000 round boxes of Federal .223 55gr.FMJ for $390.00 and
420 round cans of Lake City XM855 62gr. for $190.
plus a lot of other calibers except .22

I was just at a gunshow and one table had Prvi Partizan at $359/1000rd case or $75 for a sealed battle pak of 10-20rd boxes.

Thanks for the tip millisec. That's a better price than anything I could find locally. I went ahead and ordered a box from Grafs. Just one question for you. I checked the website and I couldn't find where they are physically located. Can you tell me what state they ship from?

Missouri I believe. Have bought quite a bit from them over the years.

Yeah Walmart had the Federal 1000 and 420 packs last week from what I heard. Missed that one. Stopped by tonight and grabbed last 150 pack they had of Federal XM855 for $69. Shelves were pretty full of everything except they had sold out of 9 and 22. Seems to be a big flood of Federal everywhere and prices have definitely come down a bit. Not to be a snob but I only own one gun I feed the commie steel stuff too and that's my SKS sporter which gobbles it up and spits it out like a laser. And at that usually only Wolf. Everything else gets all American brass and copper jacketed lead. Haven't even brought myself to load plated bullets just yet.

everyone should hold off and force the market (walmart) to readjust the price. i'm seeing red tag mark downs for 40sw at my local wm's.

Last time I checked at my local "Bubba Moun'n" (Gander Mountain), they were selling 20 round boxes of M193 ball for $12-$13 depending on manufacturer (Federal XM193/Winchester Q3131). Certainly not "great" compared to when I remember it being $6-$7 a box, but not exactly jaw-dropping either. They also had a pretty good stock of it, as well.

At today's 'Crossroads of the West' show, there was a lot of 5.56 ammo. Does anyone know about, or has anyone used UAE 5.56? Some dealers were selling 500rd cases for $200-220.

Also, what is 'range ammo?' I saw 500 loose rounds of US 5.56 in an ammo can for $200. Next to it was standard Fed ball packaging for $220/500.

Palmetto State Armory has some at a decent price. I just picked up 500 rds of Geco made 55 gr ammo in 50 rd boxes. Price was $19.99 per box, my total was $196 shipped.
They also have 1000 rd cases of Lake City XM855 for $449. I had been on sale for $419.

Academy has had AE .223, 55 grain @$8.99a box of 20. The Federal XM193F and XM193 5.56 ball was priced at $9.99 for a box of 20. They also have 1,000 count bulk 223 @$449.99.
