I look at cost per round. We all remember $.02, now less than $.06 is a deal.
And as a reloader primers have also tripled in price.

I also paid $.47 a gallon of gas when I started driving.

All relative I guess.

I just bought a 500 box of 22LR at te local farm store...22.99 +4% tax...They were Hecho in Mexico...but the cheapest I've gotten this year. They shoot better than many...and are almost match grade in one of my DCM 513T rufles

I bought Thunderbolts when they were $6 a brick and the last I bought were $16 , haven't bought any since. Still have several bricks at both prices and several Winchester Wildcat bricks that were $12 . I don't shoot much rimfire now days . My problem with the new stuff is lack of quality more than price so much . The more expensive it gets the sorrier it is , way too many duds in a box and the last CCI Standard I bought was horrible . I tried shooting it in my 4" kit gun and 6 rounds made six different sounds and shot shotgun patterns rather than groups.

During the “Obama shortage”(around be 2012) I was scorched for selling 500 rd cases of 9mm WWB for $200. The buyers absolutely begged me for it. Ammo is as cheap today as it’s ever going to be. If you have extra$$$, get it. This advice has no expiration date. Joe
