Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone had chrono results for a 230gn Berry RN w/ clays powder? Im new to the 625 revolver so just looking for some load data to get me some good clearance on the 165 power factor. I have a 4" barrel.

Thanks,

I use 4.2 grs. of Clays with the 230 gr. RN plated bullets to make 165 PF in my 4" 625. I have a bad memory of going minor over the chrono at a big match with a slightly lesser charge in my 625 SAC Mountain Gun so I bumped the charge up to 4.2 grs. just to be sure.

Hmm. I've never tried Clays. With the scarcity of certain powders these days, I may just have to; provided, of course, I can find Clays! How's it work out in .45ACP, specifically with 230gr FMJRN?

Shil,

Clays is awesome in the 625 under a 230gn. Its pretty popular, and I have been using it for a while, I just have not ran it through a chrono. I have a Major match in October so I just want to make sure Im making PF. Im currently shooting some .230 LRN with 3.5 clays which is extremely soft and I have some .230 Plated RN from Berrys under 3.8 clays and its soft as well. I've heard of some guys making power factor with 3.8 and some not. I guess it gun specific. To my advantage, Ill be shooting at 5,500' above sea level, so that gives me a little extra velocity.
