Have a 24-3 to be shipped back for repairs. Either the crane or yoke is bent causing the cylinder to strike the side of the barrel Have wear spots on the barrel. Alsough have burrs on the frame mounted firing pin bushing. I realize that is not the best time to be shipping a handgun back to S&W. When would be a good time? I assume long after the Christmas Holidays are long gone. Frank

Call first and see if they even want to tackle that job. Then get a wishful timeframe.

I sent a Transitional gun to Frank Glenn because I knew the factory wouldn't/couldn't deal with it.

He was very quick and reasonably priced. Shipping by common carrier is expensive though.

More than likely, you have end shake on the yoke or cylinder, or a combination of the two....or a loose or worn yoke screw in the sideplate. It would be very unusual for a bent or damaged yoke to cause the issue you are describing. If the yoke was out of alignment to that extent, the cylinder would not open and close properly at all.
