My 29 no dash came with a set of Magnas that had been worked really hard, and then treated even worse. I understand there are some wizards on the site who might be able to make them presentable, but it isn't something I would do because they don't number to my Smith...which came out of the gate about 40,000 earlier.

If, however, they happen to match yours, you might want to invest in getting a real craftsman to work on them. If they ought to be on your revolver, let me know. I'd be happy to send them home where they belong.

I am not sure at what year or time frame that grips were not numbered to the gun any more. Somebody out there will give you better info. I have a set that is stamped 162815. That number (if my guess is right, would be a very early gun) They are not diamond magnas. If you have something you want to trade for them send a P.M. Bob

Thanks, Bob, but I'm not in the market for any grips. I suspect the original magnas from my gun were destroyed during a life-time of carry in a cop car. The 240557 set I refer to above were probably replacements, and certainly show the same kind of wear.

I just posted on the off chance the owner of smith 240557 might be here, in which case he/she can have them...gratis.
