Two Hundred Forty Eight years ago today Our Nation came into existence.

At least one of my ancestors was born here in 1756, so we've been here for the long haul. We were of Germanic origins. Great grand dad reinfused those lines with a mail order bride from Hessen just after the Civil War (using Civil War enlistment bonus money to pay her fare). My oldest brought a home German Bride (from Hessen) and a German Car (from Audi) from his service in the Army (he let the Army pay to ship her and the car home). After 19 years she became a US citizen this last Valintine's Day. She gave birth to the first of the 8th generation of our family born here 17 1/2 years ago. We like it here. You might say it feels like home!

We have come to America's defense a number of times. And She has been very good to us! I have kids and grandkid on the East Coast, my cousins live in California, and dad has a cousin in Hawaii. Like the USA we stretch from "Sea to Shining Sea."

Great, great somthin or other with the fathers name, from a line of organ makers, came over in 1692 from England. Mother's side was from a Germanic area, escaping religious prosecution. Am related to anyone with the same last name, no matter the color. And there ain't many of us.

Historically the average lifespan of republics is 250 years! How long does this one have left? :(:(

If anyone "Likes" this post I will we greatly sorrowed! I fear the failure of "The Great Experiment" is near at hand.:mad:

I won't give you a complementary "Like", but I appreciate your participation and your comments.
