A friend has hinted at wanting my old bowling pin gun. It has been used a lot and was ported before I got it. I have a new favorite so I would like an approximate value in case he asks me to sell it to him.

I'll offer this as a comparison for value. I bought here on the Forum a 25-2 recently for $950. It also was drilled and wears a Leupold Deltapoint red dot optic and came with Pachmayr rubber grips. Condition is good but with some discoloration on part of the cylinder so not perfect. Very good shooter condition would be my evaluation. As to a friend's price, I usually sell guns to friends for what I have in them even if that purchase price was a long time ago. Depends on how close a friend I suppose.

$750 -$800 would be a fair price in my area if you have the factory sights and stocks. Good thing about the b-square mount is that it fits the gun and don't leave a mark when you remove it. I have never seen a ported 45 acp revolver. I have a mount like that somewhere. B-Square went out of business years ago and made good products. They were in the DFW area.

Good buddy--Do you have any guns you have had 35 or 40 years?

Indeed I do, good buddy, how about my trusty (and rare) two inch Victory model with the nice (might be factory) original nickel finish, only one perhaps with hammer and trigger also nickeled. Might be missing the locking lug on the barrel but S&W probably made some that way rushing to get them out for WWII. This one, given the short barrel, might have been used by the Office of Strategic Services, at least that's what the seller told me. Think I only paid $800 for it back in the early '90s. Just send a check and I'm happy to pass it along to you for the same price; probably worth a lot more now.

What I had in mind was a $350 27-2.:)

Selling to a friend

I agree with a previous post—sell it for what you have in it. And maybe
stipulate. " But if you ever want to sell it, give me a chance to buy it back".
