Real Winchester brass, about 199 cases. Fired, perhaps not too much as it looks okay.

So I will "karma" it here and pick a winner on Sunday, March 18.

Would like to see some of the guns too if you have pics. I understand there weren't many.

Good luck.

I have both a Ruger Hawkeye and a Marlin 62 levermatic in .256WM but no photos of them. Sure could use the brass for my .256 dies so would like to have a shot at the empty cases. Thanks in advance.

My first ,256 was a ruger hawkeye back in the 1960s. Then I had a martini built for it. Its a sweet cartridge. I have always wanted to find a marlin 62 in it but never seen one. Also always wanted to have a winchester 92 converted in it and saw one. I do have this 1st year TC/Contender that is 45/410 that I added a .256 win barrel and scope.
I have dies and maybe a 150 rounds and have loaded for it. Seems I have read of a M1 type carbine that was made in it. I dont know of any other guns that were made for the .256. Rossi should build the 92 and marlin should build a hammer cowboy in it. They are missing a bet! Its possible to use 357 cases and RCBS should have a die to do it.
By the way, I am not entering the drawing. I have enough cases to play with so give the other guys a chance.

Please count me in. I have a Hawkeye and a Contender in 256, and shoot both.

Karma bids are closed. I have PM'ed the three interested parties and await their responses.

Thanks again feralmerril for the interesting tale.

Thank you semperfi71. For the first time in at least 20 years my Hawkeye will now be shooting properly headstamped 256 brass.
I really enjoy keeping the odd dogs barking!
