Go see what $450 will buy you in new guns these days if you were looking for a shooter. "Plastic" I would take a lightly freckled 27 any day over one of the so called plastic fantastic.

That was a great deal. Too bad about the neglect but no sense crying over spilt milk. If it had been perfect, it would have set you back a lot more, so look at the bright side.

I counsel against a re-blue. But each to his own.

The last 27-2 I saw for sale locally was a 6 inch in about 92% condition with a rough presentation case for $795. I was ecstatic to grab my new 5 inch for $455 out the door.

I would not think of a re-blue on this gun. It has character. Nothing wrong with character in my book. Still has just under 90% of the original finish, though I didn't think it was going to polish-up to a high shine like it did.
