I have a chance to trade for this pinned and recessed 27-2. (8 & 3/8" Blued) Mechanically it is solid. Incredibly tight, timing is right on, lock up, firing pin strikes, everything I know to check is good. Cylinder gap is right at 0.006 - at the breach about 0.12.

The gun shows minor muzzle wear, a definite turn ring, and the breech face shows typical drag marks from the ratchet. Nothing notable in the barrel, minor surface rust under the stocks, and a very slight amount on the backstrap.

The only real value deduct I can find is the gun is wearing a Hougue Monogrip.

So what say you? What monetary value would YOU put on the gun if it was in front of you as a trade item?

It's not one that interests me, but in today's market $900 to $1100 seems fair for what you described.

I assume you're looking at one as a potential buyer or trader.

I have no use for the long Tom's, but some do. I'd rate it higher if it had any other barrel length.

As described, I'd think it's worth about $1,000.00

Nice, but it has the least popular barrel length and missing its original stocks. I'd say $900.

I recently did a search on closed auctions for model 27s on GB. I see so many of them listed with starting bids at $1500. Most of those that I saw sold on GB sold for just under $1000. So $800 to 900 for this one is probably in the ballpark IMHO.
