Made the mistake of stopping by a LGS not long ago, and someone had just brought in this (1969) 3-1/2" model 27-2 a couple of days before. How many of you guys would have been able to resist the urge to bring it home?

Ah, the sexy 3.5” 27. I have a safe holding several examples of ‘I couldn’t resist.’

My guess, knowing the thinking of most of the fellow members here, is very, very few……..OK, NONE!:DO

I have a really, really hard time resisting a nice 3.5" 357 Magnum. They are one of the coolest guns ever to roll off the assembly line.

We would love to see some more photos - I expect that you DID bring it home?

If so, CONGRATS!!! :D:)

I suspect that you are correct, Richard! With that glamour shot picture, I doubt the seller would let him take it outside to pose for it. I, too, hope to see more pictures of that gem!

Congratulations on a fantastic addition to the family

The 3 1/2 inch model 27 is a favorite of mine I think they look fantastic and I love shooting them

At a fair price I would be very prone to bringing it home with me. To borrow a phrase "Resistance is Futile"

Ok, guys, just to clarify my post I did bring it home, and the picture posted above is my own "glamour shot" after cleaning it up and hitting it with some Ren Wax. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy to bring it home to join its 6-inch sibling that came from the same shop a few years ago.
Sold prices on these seem to cover a wide range, but out of curiosity what would you guys consider "normal" for a gun like this? I'm fine with what I paid but am interested in others' opinions. BTW, the stocks are serialed to the gun.

In my AO, that gun would fetch $1500 easily. I have seen similar priced over $2k which I feel is too much.

I have been trying to buy one for 5 years I have plenty of pristine 5” but no 3 1/2 “. They seem to be climbing above $1500.

Thank you; that's pretty close to my thoughts, so I did quite well on this one accordingly.

I bought one just like this in 1993. It is a late '68/early '69 gun. I paid $320 for it back then. I would think $1500 and up is about right. That's what seems to be on GB, anyway. Beautiful revolver, BTW.
