You have a very nice and desirable nickel Model 27-2 from the mid-1970s. There are lots of .357 magnum and Model 27 fans here on the Forum! I have a few Model 27-2s in my modest collection, and my blued 6" is a little later than yours (N479553, ca. 1977-78). They are fun to shoot and extremely accurate revolvers. It's always nice to have the mahogany presentation case and tools, but it appears that you do not have the original stocks. Right now it is wearing some rubber Hogue's, and the set of wooden target stocks do not look like S&W. It should be fairly easy to find a set of period correct Goncalo Alves wood target stocks if you so desire. You should probably not store your 27-2 in the case- the blue flocking on the presentation case inserts tends to disintegrate over time, and can stick to your revolver if you leave it in the case. We have some expert craftsmen here on the Forum if you decide to have the case relined. Enjoy!

...The wooden grips are original to the gun (per the guy I bought it from) they are S&W grips.
Here is my Nickel 3.5" 27-2 with my former holster. I have the original grips and numbered box with all the goodie's. I also have a presentation case for it.
