I liked the video, but it ended up in 5th jug not fourth, you had 3 wet pack then started with water. Thanks for sharing. I have just received some 22 mag FTX critical defense ammo, I will test it for use in a deep conceal derringer, and in my 22mag rifles. Will let all know when it goes up. Be Safe,

Thanks.
You are absolutely correct about the penetration depth. i noticed it when editing the final video, but since I can't change what my big mouth spouted while making it...decided just to leave it in and hope nobody noticed. LOL :p

Hope to try a couple pistol rounds soon (just harder to do up here) and then some muzzleloader stuff towards the fall hunting season. Working on a new shotgun slug one too so I might have to run that into the jugs as well....:)

A new slug or one that you modified? I have done a little testing with gel, wet paper, water jugs, but I have to admit that shooting milk jugs is the most fun!! Something you can try 1-2 drops of dish soap in a gallon jug, some food coloring, red shows up well. Have someone take photos 6 photos in a row and/ or video and hit it with centerfire rifle, great photos. It is nice in winter and would even be better when the temp is 35 below!! I had some but lost a lot when my hard drive crashed in Nov 2011. The dish soap is supposed to add color?, and strength? to the bubbles/spray. I will be trying to duplicate some of my photos and will send them if anything turns out well. Be Safe,

No, I just meant a different slug load...nothing really "new" about it.
That's a good idea for the water jugs and especially in winter, just might have to try it this year !

thought the video was interesting! Thanks for sharing
but i must ask ?? What was you testing for?? and what was the jugs suppose to simulate? !
I read some where that a Stack of wet newspapers was suppose to simulate the body mass of a deer ! (dont recall the required depth)

1) Testing for depth of penetration, expansion and weight retention / bullet construction. Also because I couldn't find any similar videos and just for some morning shooting fun !

2) The jugs simulate....well...jugs. :p I don't know that there is any real comparison at all to living flesh but they do provide a fairly consistent and repeatable media in which to test fire various bullets, recover them and then compare the results.
