29-3 value...

I have a nickel 29-3...see attached pics. What would be a good starting point on price? Nothing but the gun...no box etc.

$650-$800 I would guess. You could put it on gunpoker and let it ride no reserve at a penny to see what it will sell for.

The long barrelled -3's are not as hot a seller as say the 4" or even the 6" guns.

I passed on one nearly identical to yours recently. The seller was asking $750. I countered at $450. He came to $650 and held there. I was prepared to pay $500 but no more.

In your photograph it would appear as though there is some freckling in the nickle on the barrel. If that is so, it hurts your gun quite alot.
