Now my recently acquired 29-5 won't feel lonely. :o

The 29-6 came with the original box and docs, including the purchase receipt of the original owner. He bought it from Gart Sports in Pueblo, CO for $517 in February of 1995. Am I correct that this gun should have come with the Hogue Monogrips with silver medallions?

The 29-6 is above the 29-5 in the pics. The last pic shows the difference between the rear sights, 29-5 on the left and 29-6 on the right.

629 past

I picked up a 629-3, 8-3/8", in the mid 90's, for about $650.
Paper box, target paper and other documentation.
6, 8, or 10 sights, can't remember.
I remember 4 partridge sights, two tall ones had gold dots.
Four to six other really low profile sights, some with red marks.
None with fiber optics.
629 was SS (stainless steel).
529 was blued, I chose stainless as Kansas was notoriously humid.
I moved to AZ and had to part ways with all of my magnums to stay alive/financially viable.
You have two really pretty pieces there.
Congratulations on the finds.

My -6 came with Hogue rubber grips and no silver medallions, the S&W logo was black and stamped into the rubber. It also came the new style cylinder latch thumb piece.

That's a nice find and pairs great with the dash 5. I believe the silver medallion Hogues would have been on the dash 5 model since it was made at the same time as the 629-3. Your newest one was more than likely an earlier production since it has the old style thumb latch. I'd be curious to hear which one shoots the best for you. Congrats!

My -5 did come with the silver medallion Hogues. The Culinas just look so much nicer.

Nice. Are those both round butts? Top one pictured must be. :o

Could the 29-6 possibly have shipped with silver medallion grips? I found both in my box of holsters and grips. I'm kinda thinking the grips with no medallion are off of a 625 mt gun I own but not sure. Just trying to put the correct parts with a 29-6 I own. Thanks Ted

My 29-5 came with the silver medallion Hogue grips.
