3.77 Walmart Knives

Aint seen where anyone has posted about them here before,so bear with me. I bought a couple for cheep stocking stuffers at Christmas. Let me tell you, these things AINT junk! Man this the buy. My local Wally has a lot of them up next to Sporting goods, They are folders lock up smooth and tight, stone washed blade and they are SHARP! I swear next to a 20+ prices knife they are better than a lot of them. I didn't expect much until I got them home and really fooled around with one, and if I lose or break it, hay its 3.77! The blade has NO stamping on it, that's nice, they have about 10 diff colours , grips ( some have v-10) etc, Again they are SHARP! Its worth looking at em, they have lots of GOOD reviews on you tube, I love em! regards Ernie

Don't know what brand you bought but I am aware Walmart does carry some well known brands for a lot less than many of the other chain stores. I did pick up a Sog Trident Tanto at Dicks for $59 which is not bad but have seen other brands and models like Sog and Gerber for a decent price at Walmart. Some of these models are made overseas though with different steels such as Aus-8.
 
What got me "excited" about these knifes, is the value for the 3.77 ( plus ) tax. I expected pure junk, I think they are a very attractive little folder. Open smooth and are rock solid! I am of "modest" means is one reason I even picked one up. Again ck em out on You-Tube. A true bargin in todays cheep, china throw-away world. regards Ernie

Thanks for sharing your find, but what BRAND are they? What does it say on the packaging? Or are they in a knife case/display with no packaging?
With no info other than the price (which may be different from one part of the country to another), finding them at a Wally-World Super Center could be pretty tough....

You have my interest! There are several places I'd like to have a good but cheap knife within arms reach. Maybe you could post a link to the YouTube video you spoke about. Thanks for the heads up.
 
I went to YouTube and it appears the knife the OP is speaking about is marketed under the name Ozark Trail.
 
Yep think you're right loeman. Found a few in that price range. Saw a Trail Camo with 2.75 inch blade made with a coated stainless blade. Plenty of choices.
 
They are the Ozark, Here in East Ky, they have them in a BIG revolving case, also have them in a isle in the sporting goods, do NOT confuse these with the 99 cent Ozarks, these are a "whole diff animal". Check em out at Wally World, and You tube, as a fellow shooter & member here, I think you will be VERY VERY surprised of the quality, cuteness and price, and like the on posters said, that "muti-tool" for 3.77 aint to shabby either! regards Ernie

P.S. next trip to Wally I am gonna grab about 5 more or so, and just put em away, I don't see how that deal can last, but who knows. I Swear I have gave over 20 dollars for a knife that compairs!

Well,I guess I overspent when I bought this one for $6.16! Sure,it's from China but it's SOLID! Spring-assisted blade opening,liner-lock,coated stainless. Like you,I'm impressed!




P.S. It's SHARP too! :D


Same folks had this NICE fixed-blade utility/throwing knife for $3.33.

Odd you should say that..I picked one up for a junker when I travel..My assessment, the spring will break at some point...No biggie..Opening and closing the pliers , as well as folding the unit to put in the carrying case , can be "rough"..no adjustment's on the pivot pins, they are hammered in like a rivet..Still no biggie..
4 bucks plus tax, what's to loose for a beater pair of pliers...?
 
I like how, in the video, he talks about how great those 4-dollar knives are.

Then, at about 3:30, he goes to the mulit-tool. Does not like it. "You'll wear it out real quick if you use it for anything heavy." "Well, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

The four dollar knives are good, even though they are only four dollars, but the four dollar mulit-tool is junk because it's only four dollars?
 
I bought a Sheffield for $ 2.50 and gave it to my brother for Christmas. He says it is sharp !! It was a strange iridescent purple color.
 
Yeah, I'm firmly in the "You get what you pay for" camp. I own numerous Benchmades, Spydercos and other quality brands that I bought back in the 90s. And that's also why I'm a devoted fan of most Smith and Wessons and many other quality products.

However, I'm not leaving a fine, expensive folder in the glove box of my truck or my traveling tool box or the window-sill of my garage or the junk drawer in my kitchen. These are the places you will find my $4 knives. Good enough to do a quick easy job but not so good that I will miss them if they disappear!
 
Like that Tactical Force camo job. Ended up buying the Buck Alpha at Bass Pro cause I had gift cards from Xmas. Good thing as I would have gotten hosed at their prices. Pays to shop around or check online on places like Amazon. Thanks for postin some nice looking pig stickers.
 
I was skeptical at first, but went by Walmart and bought one of the tan colored G10 folders for $3.78 (Weird how Wally has slightly different prices from one store to another). Anyway, I was very impressed by the knife (keeping in mind the low price). I went back and bought the last two of this model they had for future small gifts. It will not beat out my Bucks or Kershaws for daily or heavy use, but it is worth keeping around as a spare knife.

Yesterday's knife price at my local WM was $3.87. The multi-tool was $9.99.
