.30 Carbine

Max pressure .32 Carbine = 40,000

.44 Magnum = 36,000

Guess that it would be doable, but have to wonder why Ruger only chambered the Blackhawk for it and no other revolvers.

S&W experimented with one about 80 years ago. It was DOA. Ruger has (or had) a Blackhawk chambered in 30 caliber carbine. A really fun and LOUD shooter.

The Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine is at the top of my list to own for no particular reason ; not really practical, just a fun fire breathing and LOUD!!! revolver. A few guys at our private outdoor range own them, and the rest of us love it when they bring them. :D

Here's my Ruger. When I bought it, it looked virtually untouched in the original box, probably only fired a few times. The ammo shown was part of a souvenir box of ammo brought back from the battle of the bulge by my combat veteran next door neighbor when I was a kid. His widow gave me a few rounds. They are headstamped LC 43 - Lake City Arsenal 1943.

I have the .30 Carbine Blackhawk. It is fun and very accurate, certainly loud just as everyone says they are.

They are NOT without problems, that’s for sure.

Any gunmaker that would even consider making a .30 Carbine chambered revolver should instead make a .327 Federal. When you compare the two, .327 Federal beats .30 Carbine in every way EXCEPT for use in a semiautomatic.

So if it is a revolver, the .327 Federal makes more sense. You get the same bullet weight, plus lighter and heavier, and you have a much wider bullet selection, and 5,000 psi higher max pressure -AND- you get a straight wall rimmed case, which is where the .30 Carbine gives all the hassle in revolvers.

Ruger’s .30 Carbine revolver made fantastic sense when it debuted because .30 Carbine ammo cost two dollars for a dump truck load.

I still have mine, don’t shoot it much. A .327 Federal beats it in almost every way.

While I have NOT shot my Ruger a lot the noise[IMO] is not that loud. The shell extraction can be an issue in my short exposure.
Bought mine years ago and had to wait for Ruger to make a run since I don't believe they run them all that often.
Here's mine - grips from Karl Nill.

My .30 Carbine Blackhawk is my favorite revolver. Accurate and never had an issue whatsoever in almost 30 years.
When that thing goes off you can feel the concussion in the range and the flame it spits out is quite impressive.............but yeah, yeah it won’t punch a whole through denim LOL ***!

It’s still available from Ruger and it’s a best seller. Mine is fun to shoot at dusk with milsurp ammo!
