Most of the old model S&Ws & Colts DA revolvers in 32/20 will pic their own load if you expect to hit point of aim. I have found no case where it was close to top of chart.
In original revolver & rifle I have found cast outshoots jackets. This includes guns built up to 1930s.
Killing a deer with 32/20 is not a big deal. I've only shot one with my old Marlin 1894 just to say I did it. Also was a requirement to go into keepers.
