Hello all! I am trying to identify my father's old gun the number on bottom of grip is 162517 ,left side of barrel has auto ejecting 32 S&W CTGE ,on top of barrel has Harrington & Richardson Arms Company Worchester Mass,USA UNDER THAT LINE HAS Pat.may 14&aug,6 89 April 2 95 April 7 96 , I am trying to make this operational but need to have a positive identification, any help is greatly appreciated thank you

Welcome to the forum. You have a Harrington and Richardson auto-ejecting .32 and it would be a top break action. It would be a Harrington & Richardson Auto-ejecting Third Model. Since it has the cartridge designation on the left of the barrel it was made for smokeless powder and is safe to shoot with new factory ammo. The names of the cartridges it takes are .32 S&W or .32 S&W Long. The cylinder should hold six shots.
 
thanks for your information ,the smith i had look at it said i need a cylinder lock and possibly some other parts would you have any avenues for me ? I thank you for your help!!!
 
Gun Parts Corporation, has parts from old guns and leftovers from the factories' shut down. They often have exploded diagrams with part name/numbers. The more info you give them, the better job they do of getting the parts for the correct variation of your gun.

Jack First Gun Parts carries some H&R parts. Ivan's suggestion of Numrich is probably your best bet, but I've used Jack First as well. It is another avenue to try.
